hi! here’s a recap of week 2 here in gainesville, GA!

so sweet to have these photos that show the love of Jesus shining through these people so well. thankful to have community that leads me back to Him. they represent Him so well.

SUNDAY!

sabbath! squad church! we have squad church every sunday, and its led by one team on the squad each week. this past week was lead by the leaders! they served us so well by washing each of our feet. it was a really sweet thing to witness!

MONDAY!

we had a session this day about being willing to be interrupted by God. Jesus got the disciples out of their hometown to reinvent them. He’s doing that to us. and all for His glory. this isn’t about us; it’s about Him.

also, every monday, we have women’s night! a time to get together with the women in the world race gap year community and be empowered by the word! so thankful!

all smiles with trav, lexi, and mg!!!

layna and trav! sweet people!

TUESDAY!

this day, we had a session about healing. we learned about how healing still happens today because God is present with us here & now. we got into small groups and prayed over people struggling with physical conditions. healing happened throughout all 3 gap year squads, and we were able to tangibly see it. it was so cool. God is working & working & working, and we’re just thankful. a sweet reminder that if we don’t pray, it is certain that we won’t see God move. but when we do, we open up space for Him to move.

THURSDAY!

laundry day! we wash our clothes in buckets and hang them on clotheslines, but  the simplicity of it is actually really sweet. the simplicity of living here is actually really sweet. the tents, the porta potties, and the limited clothes all are ways that God has already humbled me and made me realize that He’s all i need & all i want. and its all so fun, even when its hard. so yeah, laundry day took a little getting used to, but its a part of the list that God is using to change & grow my heart to rely on Him more.

FRIDAY!

checking on our laundry and stopping at our little homes. life is really sweet. can’t stop talking about it.

SATURDAY!

we went to atlanta this day for a racial reconciliation conference with the organization one race! we got to hear from speakers and also worship with tribl, which, for a lot of us, is our favorite worship artist! super cool and super refreshing! the best way to end our week.

and thats week 2! by the time i’m posting this, its already friday of week 3, but i wanted to make sure to write about week 2, because it held so much joy & growth & fun. so i hope you love it! blog coming very soon about the continued joy & growth & fun of week 3. it keeps on getting better!

love always,

ava <3
